The train stops here all year, and that is the point: Lønsdal is one of the few ways into the Saltfjellet plateau you can reach without a car when E6 is shut.

Background
Lønsdal (pitesamisk: Luonos, lulesamisk: Luonosvágge) stasjon på Nordlandsbanen ligger i Lønsdalen i Saltdal kommune i Nordland. Stasjonen ble åpnet 10. desember 1947, og var Nordlandsbanens endepunkt frem til 1. desember 1955. Stasjonen ligger 511.8 moh og er betjent av togekspeditør.
